About the High Commission
The British High Commission is located in Belmopan; Belize’s Capital. The first High Commission was established in 1981 when Belize attained its independence, His Excellency Francis Sidney Edward Trew was appointed as the first British High Commissioner to Belize. He carried out his functions from Belize House, currently the official residence of the Governor-General. Construction of the present High Commission, across the street from Belize House, and the High Commissioner’s Residence, located on Floriana Ave, began in l982 concluding in l984.
