I am very pleased to welcome you to the website of the British High Commission in Belize. This site contains information about our activities in a simple, user-friendly format which we are sure will prove both easy and interesting to use. It explains the range of services which we can offer you, and provides links to a large number of websites in which you can find out more about Britain as a whole.

We are one of the smaller posts in the region, but busy!  Some of our main work includes:

• Looking out for our sizeable expat community as well as the British tourists who visit here;
• Helping Belize and Guatemala - either bilaterally or via the OAS - as they move towards a resolution of the long-standing border issue; and
• Working to promote HMG's vision of a low-carbon future, and, with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre and colleagues in other Missions in the area, to help promote joint SICA/CARICOM positions for the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference in December.  We are also doing our own bit in the High Commission, implementing the results of a "green audit" carried out last year.  We need to practice what we preach!
